This was the
first official day of my practice teaching. I handled Grade 7 and 8. I first
taught Grade 8 Water Hyacinth with the topic “Kabihasnang Indus”.
|
I used the
classical conditioning theory of Ivan Pavlov wherein I used bell as symbol
eveytime they are noisy, I just ring the bell and they will behave now. It is
very effective, but sometimes they made it funny. I also gave formative
assessment to challenge their intelligence, and hopefully, they’re scores are
good.

I have learned
that teaching is a hard task. I learned like teacher domain cannot be
prevented because it is natural in teaching especially if the level of
students is not as high as we expected, so adjustment is a must.

I first used
lecture method as one of my introduction.
Poster making

I used ball
for recitation to get the attention of my students. I also used bell for
classroom management. Then, I gave an
activity which was poster making(creating their own civilization).

learned for this time it is hard to handle sections with different attitudes
and behaviors. So that is why I used some materials as my help for my
teaching. I also gave them the freedom to create their own civilization for
them to show their talent and skills in arts.

In
recitation, I used pair to pair recitation wherein I grouped them into pair
and they asked their partner at least three questions about the previous
topic(Kabihasnang Indus). Then, after the balik aral, I next grouped them
into two using UNO cards. I played “Indus Quiz Bee”.

I
first get the attention of my students so that they will engage to learn
more. I used this kind of technique to make them more interested.
|
I
have learned that they are more enjoyable in games than listening to teacher.
They felt boring if using lecture method. But, it is not hard to not using. I
need more practice.

Teacher’s Day
|
I
have seen students who have their special performances for teachers.

Enjoyment
never ends in the four sides of classroom, sometimes it ends with another
comprehensive activity,and that was the National Teacher’s Day celebration. I
saw the bonding of teachers and students and their message with each
other—Love inspite and despite of problems and happiness.

made my report simple but clearly understandable. After my discussion, I gave

that was they will give objects that is used today.

a am an existentialist, I always giving activities that allowed the to do

because if feels me like I am

week was the semestral break of my cooperating school. My critic teacher requested me to go to
ANNEX to check the papers of our students in 2nd Periodical test.

I
used patterns in checking so many papers. If I did not learn it, it will make
me suffer more.

Actually,
it was hard to check so many papers. But I have learned I need to be wise in
checking papers, but in a good way.

I taught my students shortly and after that,

to the COEd Week. But, my critic teacher requested me to go to school to
check the scores of our students in our activity.

have learned one thing: You need to prioritize your critic teacher no matter
how busy you are. You need to give time with your critic teacher inspite of
your extra curricular activities. Like in our life, we have to be more
flexible in all times and entertain

was the third day of my hectic schedule. But, I enjoyed it a lot because I
experienced how to manage time despite of my not so much complicated
schedule. I also learned that if you
love your profession, whatever
happens, still you will no longer be tired anymore as long as love is still
remains in you heart and soul.

This
was the first day of our second grading because of the 3 day APEC Summit. I
discussed the remaining topics in the Second Grading Period(Mga Relihiyon sa
Asya in Grade 7 and Mga Naging Pinuno sa Imperyong Roma in Grade 8).

I used ICT as alternative in teaching. After
the discussion, I gave an activity.

According
to Educational Technology II, an ideal number ratio is 6 by 6 or 7 by 7. But based on my
observation, many of my students cannot elaborate their ideas everytime I
gave activities with them. And as what I have observed,they just only
answering according from what they had seen. If the slides of every
presentation I will use was the ideal, therefore, they will just answer short.
But if I will use, they will do the same.

We
adjusted to the topic because of lack of time for third grading. I started
discussing the first topic in 3rd grading. In Grade 7 was Mga
Dahilan ng Pagkakaroon ng interes ng mga Kanluranin sa Asya at Ang Pag usbong
ng Banal na Imperyong Roman in Grade 8.

I
used the art of questioning method as what the head of AP department said to
me. I used it during discussion. I also used pictures in our topic so that
students will get familiarize. After discussion, I gave activity which was
they will give what the other possible reasons why Westerns had interest in
conquering Asia(Grade 7).

I
needed to improve my art of questioning because as what I have observed, my
students cannot answer easily everytime I will ask them questions. That is
why I need to improve my style in asking questions. I need to improve myself
more.

this day, I discussed Imperyalismo sa Timog Asya in Grade 7 and I gave an
activity which was they will analyze what the drawing wanted to express. In
Grade 8, I discussed Kahalaganan Simbahan sa Lipunan and after that I gave an
activity which was they will describe the hiarchy of Church through slogan

I
used the art of questioning during my discussion. In my activity in Grade 7,
I prepared an editorial cartooning showing two persons: A big man puppeting a
small man which expressing imperialism. In Grade 8, I told them to make a
slogan.

In
this part, I used the art of questioning and their freedom to express want
they want to show through slogan. Actually, I felt that I need improvements
in teaching, that is why I am still practicing my skills in asking questions.

this day, I taught imperyalismo sa Timog Asya, particular in India and
Pakistan. I gave an activity which was debate.

I
used art of questioning in my discussion. In using debate, I used it as my
technique so that their classmates will follow to the discussion and will
understand it clearly.

have learned that teacher must always use “what?” first in using or making
art of questioning because sometimes or oftentimes, students cannot answer
high questions easily like “how” and “why”. I needed to improve myself more.

We
have no class in Curriculum development, so this was my opportunity to
practice my teaching skills and to prepare for my upcoming demonstration
teaching. I continued discussing in Grade 7 and 8 which was Mga Dahilan ng
Pagkakaroon ng interes ng mga Kanluranin at Ang Krusada,respectively.

I
used deciphering as my motivation. I used mumbers representing letters in the
alphabet. I made this so that students will not get boring. I gave an
activity in Grade 7 which was they needed to give what were the possible
reasons why Westerners got interest to conquer Asia. Next was I used an
analization using their reading comprehension. I asked them to read Krusada
in their AP Book and after that they answered by completing the sentences in
the blanks.

I
enjoyed a lot when I saw my students deciphering in our motivation. I saw
them enjoying the game and after that I saw them got interest in my
discussion. Actually, I do not want to give any rewards because my head teacher
in AP told me that we need to see the reality and not another one. I needed
to improve my skills in asking questions.

In
my motivation, I used the “What If’s?” to relate my students in everyday life
and to the past(topic). In my discussion, I used the question and answer
method or the art of questioning so that my students will relate more to the
topic I was discussing.

From
the start my head teacher taught me the proper question and answer method, I
have learned that asking questiong that will relate students will give them
interest to focus on the topic because they feel they are belong to the topic
and they surely experienced it.

an activity which was the Information chart.

I
tried to get activity coming from the module/book. I used question and answer

Based
on what I have observed, I found out that they were hard to answer because
the activity found in the book was hard for them. Maybe because of the kind
of students or the kind of activity. So,therefore, I need to think not so
easy but not so hard activity next time.

This
week was my week because in Wednesday will be my demonstration day, but today
the school will be celebrating the English week. We have short time or we
will teach half day only. I taught Timog Asya shortly.

Because
of the short time, I just discussed shortly. But, that was not the
reason to not to teach. I used the
question and answer method.

Why
I always used question and answer method? Because I have learned something:
If you mastered it, then you will teach students properly and they will go
outside the classroom bringing what they have learned. I have learned that
visual aids is not much important, but what is the lesson they learned and
how do they relate to the topic, how they experienced in throughout their
minds, and why they need to learn the topic. I have to learn and improve it
more.

school was celebrating the English Week, but I need to discuss Nasyonalismo
because tomorrow will be my demonstration teaching.

I
used ICT as alternative source.My topic was Nationalism. My motivation was
entitled “Bigyan ng Title Iyan!” wherein my students will give title every
pictures I give. In my discussion, I used question and answer method and in
activity, I gave them different tasks:role playing, tableau, jingle making,
and poem making.

My
dry-run was not successful because my powerpoint presentation did not
function well, as well as the activities I had given to them. I must improve
my teaching strategies.

day was my demonstration teaching. The school has activity today. My
demonstration teaching will be starting at 3pm in the afternoon.

motivation was entitled, “Bigyan ng Title Iyan!” which students will give
their own title based on the pictures I gave. In my discussion, I used the
question and answer method. In my activity, I gave different tasks: role
playing, tableau, jingle making, and poem making. I also gave quiz which was

As
a result, my demonstration teaching was successful. I passed my demo
teaching! I enjoyed a lot, actually. I would like to say thank you to my

In
this day, I discussed Nasyonalismo in Grade 7. Like on my demo, I did it
again. In Grade 8, I discussed Pyudalismo
Which
I discussed first then I gave an activity which was they will describe on
their own what was Pyudalismo all about.

and it will level up afterwards. They can answer now unlike from the past
discussions we shared. I must improve it more.

Today,
we tackled Mga Lipunan sa Panahon ng Pyudalismo in Grade 8 and Imperyalismo
sa Kanlurang Asya in Grade 7

In
my motivation in Grade 8, I asked them if they were renting a house or if
they lived in a rent house. I used dialectic method during class.
I
did not use any visual aids.

was the feeling of not using any visual aids, only me. Since our head teacher
in AP said look to the reality, so I want to experience it-how to be a real

am not just an AP teacher, I am also a musician. Accoring to the Principles
of Teaching I and II, a good teacher knows how to be flexible, how to adjust,
and how to think many things to accommodate lots of students. Therefore, I am
a good teacher because I could teach in different areas.

have no class for this last week. So, I decided to teach voluntarily in my
Grade 8 students for the upcoming choral contest on Friday

I
requested to change the first song, which was the star ng pasko, and change
it into simple one. They chose Pasko na Naman.

I
need to tell the truth that they will never win if they will choose
star ng pasko because it was not appropriate to their voice. So, I was
thankful because they listened from my suggestion.

This
was the last day of my teaching for the choral contest for tomorrow,

I
still listened to their voice.

I
enjoyed joining with them, but it is a sad fact that my last day will be
tomorrow. I was very sad, but I do not want to show to them because I do not
want to be sad even the last day of my staying in Annex. I love them.

Christmas Party and Choral Contest

I
guided them. That was all I can do for them
|
I
was happy because they placed 3rd, as well as my one of my Grade 7
class who I taught for the choral contest who also reached 3rd.
They will now included to the finals in 19. Mixed emotions I feel right now.
I took selfies with them. I don’t want to miss them because I cannot carry
on. I want enjoyed a lot together with them. I have no any regrets because I
feel a family in Annex. I love them very much. See you soon. Si Lord na ang
gagawa ng way sa akin. God Bless You All. Ang sarap maging guro. Mahirap,
pero Masaya.
